Child Safeguarding Statement

The management team and staff of Farrellys Coaches Ltd. recognise that child protection and welfare considerations permeate many aspects of our school transport services and must therefore be reflected in our daily school bus service practices and activities. In accordance with the requirements of the Children First Act that came into place on 11th December 2017, Farrellys Coaches Ltd. have agreed our Child Safeguarding Statement.

In our practices and activities, Farrellys Coaches Ltd. will adhere to the following principles of best practice in relation to the protection and welfare of our school bus passengers. We undertake to;

• Recognise that the safety, protection and welfare of children is of paramount importance, regardless of all other considerations
• Fully co-operate with the relevant statutory authorities in relation to child protection and welfare matters
• Adopt safe practices to minimise the possibility of harm or accidents happening to children, including detailed training, recruitment and selection procedures and the ongoing supervision and education of staff around early recognition and reporting of any potential incidents
• Develop a practice of openness and cooperation with parents and encourage parental involvement in the safeguarding of their children
• Develop and maintain clear record keeping procedures
• Ensure a ‘Code of Behaviour’ is in place to provide staff with clear guidance on how to treat children and young people who use our transport services
• Fully respect confidentiality requirements in dealing with child protection matters
